Don't let them touch a Bass.

About a year ago I took my bass here to be set up... I was new and didn't know any better.

I have been chasing a buzz in my Bass for a while now. Apparently it was all caused from the time I let them set up my bass.

They told me they filed open the nut to make a string seat better, unfortunately they gouged it pretty bad which resulted in the need to replace it. A more reputable local shop ended up fixing the problem.

They also strung one of my strings backwards. E turns counter clockwise to detune, a-d-g turn clockwise to detune. Not a big deal, but it shows a serious lack of attention to detail.

My new bass also left their shop with its first chip in the paint. He was honest about it, pointed it out, apologized and said he touched it up with clear nail Polish to prevent it from getting worse.

He is a good honest guy, but I seriously question his ability to work on guitars.
